We provide specialist independent condition and structural surveys of timber components, in new and in historic buildings, and structures of all kind, using non-destructive test methodologies.
Timber In-situ Visual Strength Grading
Our team excels in conducting accurate in-situ visual strength grading of softwoods and hardwoods ensuring structural integrity. We provide the appropriate strength class that structural engineers can use for structural calculations.
Timber Expert Witness
We provide expert witness services for timber-related cases, offering professional opinions and expertise. We will provide an independent expert witness report, which complies with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules.
Bespoke Training Courses
We provide bespoke tailored timber courses at your own premises. We specialise in timber technology, timber properties and uses, specifying timber, visual grading of timber, new and used scaffold board training.
Cladding & Decking Inspections
Filros undertakes inspections of cladding and decking. We provide private home owners, property developers, architects, surveyors, structural engineers etc. who may require independent expert opinion the quality of the timber, design and workmanship, distortion and disclouration.
Flooring
Filros carries out forensic and problem diagnosis surveys on domestic, commercial and industrial floors to determine possible causes of in-service problems of movement, distortion, gapping, creaking/squeaking, discoluration, poor performance.
